Graduate recruitment
Portland recruits a handful of recent graduates each year for Researcher and Account Executive positions.  The programme includes mentoring by a senior staff member, fortnightly lectures at the “Portland Academy”, an intensive IT skills training and the opportunity work on some of the most interesting communications campaigns in the country.  

Internships
Portland offers a few places each year for students or recent graduates. The key aspect of the Portland internship is the opportunity to participate in real work such as research, writing, media-monitoring, event coordination, brainstorming and, inevitably, making the odd cup of tea.

Recent graduates from the Portland internship have secured jobs in leading NGOs, think tanks, Parliament, political campaigns – such as the Barack Obama campaign - and, of course, Portland. Portland interns qualify for financial compensation. Placements vary in length and are usually offered for a period of six weeks to three months.
